Help & contact

Ready to train.

Connect a heart-rate sensor

Wear and activate your sensor as its manufacturer describes. Open the sensor picker in ZoneBeat, allow Bluetooth access and select your sensor. ZoneBeat uses the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service. Compatibility depends on the model, not just the brand. ANT+-only sensors are not supported.

Sensor missing?

Check the battery and wake the sensor. Disconnect it from other apps or equipment if it cannot maintain multiple Bluetooth connections. Keep your phone nearby and try scanning again.

Heart rate and rhythm are different

Your sensor supplies heart rate. Target cadence is the step rate you choose; ZoneBeat does not measure your actual steps. Use plus and minus to adjust the rhythm during a workout.

Watch video while training

Start a video in an app that supports Picture in Picture, then return to ZoneBeat. Turn on “Space for video” to leave more room. Availability depends on the video service. ZoneBeat cannot overlay its display on other apps.

Trials and purchasing

You get five free completed workouts. Only workouts with at least three active minutes count; paused time and demo sessions do not. A workout in progress is never interrupted by a purchase requirement. One purchase permanently unlocks the app on devices using the same Apple Account. The trial counter is stored locally and may reset when the app is deleted.

Restore access

Open Settings → Full access → Restore purchases. Use the Apple Account you purchased with. Purchasing and restoring may require an internet connection.

Should I go from 150 to 170 steps per minute?

There is no ideal cadence for everyone. That change is about 13%; adjust gradually at the same speed. A slightly higher step rate can shorten your steps and reduce some knee loading, but it does not guarantee faster running or prevent injuries. Read the research on step rate and knee loading.

Send feedback during the beta

Open TestFlight, select ZoneBeat and choose “Send Beta Feedback”. Describe what happened and include your iPhone or iPad and sensor model. Share only information you want to send to the developer.

TestFlight purchases are free test purchases. They do not unlock the later App Store version.

Age ratings and exercise equipment

The App Store age rating describes the app’s content. It does not specify a safe age for using exercise equipment. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s age limits and safety instructions.
